Children’s Gardening Club

We’re still planning our 2024 and 2025 activities. Watch this space.

But this is what you can expect

Children’s Gardening Club is a family or household-based activity. One/two adults can bring up to 4 can children. The children and the adults will work together to learn gardening skills of all sorts from planting to caring for the new shoots and the eventual harvesting of the crop. They will also learn about soil care, composting and several other key skills. Care for the chickens and our rabbits will be part of our time together. We will learn about the bees and their role in a healthy vegetable or flower garden.

We recognise that families/households may have to miss a session here and there and that is not a problem. There may be other reasons also – as long as we know it helps us plan well for each week.)

How much does it cost?

We are offering the club as a donation based activity during this first set of 10 sessions. The suggested donation is £5 per session for up to 3 people, large or small and £10 for up to 6 people per session, large or small. The Gather Community Garden is a project of a registered charity, Gather Collective. All your donations will go to help pay the cost of the sessions and support the work of the Community Garden.

You can pay for each session on the day using cash or via contactless card payment at reception

The club has two age groups

3-6 year olds – 9.30am (Session lasts for one hour)

7-11 year olds – 11.00am (Session lasts for one hour)

What will you need to wear/bring?

Children and adults will need to be ready for muddy conditions at times. We will give you much more information nearer the time

How do we register?

A form will appear here when we announce our 24/25 plans.
